On Desires

How are you guys doing on your fourth week as freshmen? I hope everyone is coping well with the Ateneo environment. Much so, I hope everyone is using the "lightness" of your academic load these first few weeks to get to know how it is to be a student of the Ateneo. I'm pretty sure, in a few weeks time, you'll experience the real deal in academics.

And so, this morning's session was about desires. All of us have desires - may it be good or bad. But we should remember that these desires wouldn't be met without our participation - like prayer, 90% is given by God but the remaining 10% rests on us. We should not forget that our deepest desires in life are God's desires for us as well.

Homework:

As part of your participation, we want you to know or be aware of what your desires in life are - would you want to become a successful businessman or a famous owner of a clothing brand? Would you want to have stable family life with lots of children and a beautiful husband or wife? Would you want to build your mansion on top of a hill?

For your homework to be submitted next meeting, July 9: On a short bond paper (8.5" x 11"), present what your desire/s in life is/are. It may be in the form of an essay, a diary entry, a letter, a poster, a drawing, a graphic representation, a sketch, a collage, or anything that you can think of.

Please label your work with the following format:
InTACT - Section SS (upper left, first line)
Name (upper left, second line) Date (upper right, second line)
Name of Homeroom Adviser (upper left, third line) Name of Student Facilitator (upper right, third line)

Online discussions are an extension of our offline/classroom discussions in InTACT. So treat this as part of your InTACT program as well. It won't only help us remember you, but it will help you more discover who you are as persons and students and as persons for others.

1. For those who haven't submitted their 1x1 id pictures, please do so. Write your name and intact section at the back.
2. Do not forget your homework. You know what will happen if you don't submit your homework *big grin*
3. The following people have to submit the STUDENT INFORMATION SHEET by Friday, July 4: Noel Hernandez, Michelle Hernandez and Vince Burke.
