Introduction and House Rules

Session 2: Introduction

The main purpose of our session last meeting was to get to know more about each other and for the facilitators to remember your names and associate them with your faces and with what you shared during the group dynamics.

Some notes and house rules from last meeting:
  • Students are graded for InTACT semestrally. Hence, these grades will appear on your transcript of record. The students are graded as follows:
    • 60% - Participation (includes attendance, class participation, discussions in both offline and online means)
    • 40% - Completion and submission of requirements (includes projects, homeworks, class requirements for the day)
Your grades will either be an S (satisfactory = passing) or a U (unsatisfactory = failing).
You may consult your InTACT facis with regards to your class standing (i.e. submissions, attendance, etc.).

  • Students are only allowed a maximum of three (3) cuts, whether with or without a valid excuse. Once you go above the maximum number of cuts, you are automatically getting a failing mark for InTACT. Consequence: You won't be able to enlist for NSTP in your sophomore year. The following activities are equivalent to InTACT class sessions:
    • University Cheer Rally = 1 InTACT session
    • Freshmen OrSEM = 1 InTACT session
    • Community Building Activity = 2 InTACT sessions
    • Individual or Group Consultation with HA = 1 InTACT session
Cuts and their equivalences:
    • Absent / Cut = 1 cut
    • Lateness (after 10 mins from the 2nd bell) = 1/2 cut
    • Non-submission of requirements within the specified time = 1/2 cut
    • No requirements/materials for the day's session = 1/2 cut
  • You will be considered late if you go to class after 9.40am. Lateness is equivalent to half a cut.
  • Attendance will be checked after 9.40am.
Please be reminded that we will follow strictly all of the policies above (especially when it comes to attendance and requirements) as agreed upon last meeting. These are the only tools wherein we can measure your participation in the InTACT class.

Please don't hesitate to contact your InTACT facis anytime.

Some administrative matters:
  1. Your InTACT session for next week will be held at the ESCALER HALL (SecA), 9.30-10.30. Please be there on time. Please be at your best behavior.
  2. For those who haven't submitted their 1x1 ID pictures: kindly write your name and intact section (SS) at the back and submit it on Wednesday.
  3. Attendance to the University Cheer Rally tomorrow will be checked. Please be reminded that this is considered as one InTACT session.
  4. Prayer leaders for July 9: Mia Bisnon, Julienne Canoy and Sands Chanto.

Getting to know you

The InTACT Program is designed to help you guys adjust to the Ateneo way of living - in the university setting! So your facilitators are here to guide, motivate and inspire you as you live your freshmen year. At the same time, we are here, not as your teachers or higher beings but, as friends, "kabarkadas," or simply co-Ateneans whom you can go to anytime when you need help, when you want to talk about just anything, or when you feel you want to hang-out and party with.

I wish that you treat this online space not simply as a supplement to our classroom activities but as a meaningful resource for learning and getting to know your blockmates and facilitators, an active and vibrant space for discussions, and a shared experience with your fellow blockmates and facilitators.

And to start this long process of bonding, we actually want to know more about you! Kindly reply to this post and introduce yourself below so that we can get our discussions going. Additionally, please answer the following:
1) Full name and how you want to be called in class
2) Your favorite website and why
3) Why you chose management as your course
4) What is your idea of a perfect day

Please feel at home or free when you answer this! Just be yourself! This will help us know you more and adjust the program for you and your needs.
